After all, biking way up in the mountains is the best, thanks to the breathtaking views, the crystal clear air, and the amazing feeling of being so high above everyday life down below. In just over eight minutes, the comfortable 3S Penkenbahn takes guests from the center of Mayrhofen up to the mountain station at 1790 meters above sea level. Whoever wants to get even higher can continue up on one of the open-air cable cars of the Kombibahn Penken. You can easily take your bike along on either cable car. Once on top, you will find various mountain bike tours for all skill levels.

The tour starts at the Penkenbahn mountain station in the direction of the Penkenjoch. Shortly after the bottom station of the Kombibahn Penken, a gravel path leads down into the Horbergtal valley on the right-hand side, past the Horbergbahn to the Hochschwendberg. Once you reach the valley station of the Möslbahn, the path leads uphill to the left. Shortly after the tree line you reach the toll station of the Zillertaler Höhenstrasse. This is where the circular route Rastkogel Hut No. 420 begins, from which you reach the Rastkogel Hut via the Schaftenheualm and Sidanalm. Experienced bikers can also continue on to the Sidanjoch viewpoint. From there you return to the starting point at the toll station. Then the tour takes you down to Hippach via the Schwendbergstraße. From there you can return to Mayrhofen via the cycle path. --- Distance: 36 km / Altitude difference uphill: 1,387 m / Altitude difference downhill: 2,531 m / Level of difficulty: difficult

Back to the Möslbahn valley station. From here the Schwendbergstrasse takes you down to Hippach. CYCLING ACROSS TYROL
The Tirol Bike Safari is the answer for everyone who is looking for a fun and flexible ride, since the Tyrolean mountains are the perfect playground for mountain bikers. The Safari consists of 16 stages and 15,000 of the overall 32,000 meters of elevation gain can be negotiated using 21 different gondolas. Point cards for riding the lifts are available at the Penkenbahn cash desk in Mayrhofen, which is also the finishing point of Stage 9 and the starting point of Stage 10.
