Some secret tips on Mayrhofens Mountains

Eagle's Stage "Meet & Greet"

You can experience majestic Birds of Prey up close and capture unforgettable moments during the daily free "Meet & Greet" from 11.00 a.m. to 02.00 p.m. (closed on Saturdays, weather-related changes possible). The falconers will show you how they train and care for the animals while at work.

Early Bird on Mount Ahorn

The first Ahornbahn gondola departs at 07.30 a.m. in the winter season. You can take advantage of this early start by carving virgin lines down the freshly groomed 5.5 km long ValleyRun Ahorn. You will have worked an appetite up by the time you’re down, which can be satiated with delicious local delicacies in one of the welcoming mountain restaurants. This is how every day should begin!

Early Bird on Mount Penken

For your first runs, we recommend that you head over to Schneekar at Horberg early in the morning. The sun will already be shining and you'll have the perfectly prepared pistes almost all to yourself!

KinderLand Mösl

With the Möslbahn on the Hochwendberg, you can reach the KinderLand Mösl directly, which is located right at the mountain station. With a drag lift and conveyor belts, it's the ideal spot for children and beginners.

Lockers

Use one of the free lockers at the 4SB Sun Jet Summit Station in PenkenPark and enjoy your day of skiing! At the Ahornbahn Mountain Station you find lockers as well (chargeable: € 1,00). At the Penkenbahn on the mountain and in the valley there is a large Bründl Sports ski depot with numerous lockers for a fee. Sport Fankhauser provides a large depot at the Horbergbahn.

Postpone lunch break

Our tip: Postpone your lunch break a little bit and you'll be able to enjoy the nearly empty pistes during lunchtime!

Northern slopes on Mount Penken

In the morning, head on over to Horberg, the sunny side of Penken. In the afternoon, we recommend pistes 31, 32, 33 and 34, which will be in great shape even in the afternoon!

Piste 13 on Mount Penken

Do you know our Piste 13, the Tappental? A traverse takes you from Piste 10 to a wonderfully wide piste where you have plenty of room to enjoy your turns. You will love it!

Winter HikingPath Filzenkogel

On the HikingTrail to Filzenkogel Peak, summiteers of all ages can enjoy the wonderful wrap-round views of the Zillertal Alps and, after around an hour's walk, reward their efforts by entering their names in the summit book.

Virginia's tree house from the story about AlbertAdler is located directly at the mountain station of the Penken combined lift and invites you to rest. You can also get the children's book on the story "Albert, the eagle and the battle for Mayrhofen" there.
