The "Mountaineering Village", as it is affectionately referred to, lies at an altitude of 999 m in the Zemmgrund, one of the subsidiary valleys of the upper Zillertal, with the unique and fascinating backdrop of the mountains in the Zillertal Alps Nature Park. Ginzling therefore serves as an ideal starting point for trekking and touring in the imposing landscapes. All footpaths and trails in Ginzling have been awarded the "Mountain Path Seal of Approval" from the State of Tyrol and are almost all part of the Zillertal Alps Nature Park protected area. Ginzling is also the host village for the "Zillertal Steinbock March". Considered to be one of the greatest alpine marches, this classic tour has been held in Ginzling since 1969.
