Hiking paradise at the Schlegeis reservoir
The Schlegeis Alpenstraße takes you on thirteen curvy and cheeky kilometers high into the Zillertal mountains. A breathtaking panorama of the surrounding 3,000-metre peaks and glaciers characterizes the area around the emerald-green reservoir. Outdoor fans will get their money's worth here!
The “Zillertal Alps Nature Park” covers more than 420 km² and can be explored sustainably on foot. The hike to the Pfitscher Joch leads to the border to Italy. In former times this was an important crossing over the Alps and the route is still a worthwhile destination today. Families with small children and older people can also enjoy nature during a walk along the waterfront. Along the way, numerous huts with regional delicacies invite you to linger.
At the 131 meter high Schlegeis dam, fun and action are clearly in the foreground. A 600 metre long Flying Fox makes the dream of flying come true. The via ferrata on the dam wall and a climbing facility for children make #Schlegeis 131 an experience for young and old alike.
New: Tickets for the desired visit day at the Schlegeis can now be purchased online at www. verbund. com/schlegeis-tickets.
