We are delighted to invite you to the SAAC Avalanche Awareness Camp in Mayrhofen! The camp will take place over the weekend of February 22-23, 2025, and offers all participants a unique opportunity to thoroughly engage with the topic of avalanche safety.
What to Expect:Theoretical Foundations: On the first day, you will receive comprehensive theoretical insights into the formation of avalanches, risk factors, and preventive measures. Our experienced experts will provide you with valuable tips and background knowledge.Practical Exercises: On the second day, we head out into the field. Here, you will have the opportunity to apply what you have learned in real-world conditions. The focus will be on avalanche search and rescue, the proper use of safety equipment, and recognizing danger spots in off-piste areas.Networking and Exchange: The camp offers the perfect platform to exchange ideas with like-minded individuals and make new contacts within the mountain sports community.
Who Can Participate?
The camp is open to all winter sports enthusiasts, whether beginners or advanced, who wish to deepen their knowledge of avalanche safety. A solid basic fitness level and a passion for winter mountain sports activities are prerequisites. German only.
Registration and Costs:
