Rafting with the Freiluftakademie

Description

RAFTING IN THE ZILLERTAL

Rafting is a fun sport where you are particularly close to the element of water - and sometimes right in the middle of it. Wild currents and water rollers have to be overcome with the rubber dinghy.

4 kilometres of rafting

Rafting in the Zillertal is an adventure and a great nature experience. Our house route always takes you along the current of the Ziller, starting from the Kreuzlau near Mayrhofen to Hippach - a total of 4 kilometres of action that you won't forget in a hurry! The difficulty of rafting routes in Austria is divided into 6 levels, so our house route is rated 2+, an easy level and therefore ideal for beginners and families with children.

Before the start of the rafting tour

What do you need for rafting in Tyrol? Not much: swimwear and a towel are enough, the rest of the equipment is given to each participant before the start of the rafting tour. This includes a neoprene suit that protects against the sometimes fresh temperatures of the Ziller, as well as a life jacket and a helmet. After a short briefing by our guides, we are ready to go: now it's time to pull together to conquer the wild waters!

After receiving the equipment at the outdoor base, we head to the start of the tour in Mayrhofen. After a detailed briefing and test paddling, we push the boat into the crystal clear current of the Ziller. In teamwork we will master the waves and rollers of the river. The Ziller is a perfect beginner's tour and also suitable for families with children from the age of 6.
